About Deborah Conquest

Artist. Coach. Mentor.

Hi, I’m Deborah.

Singers I work with go on to perform everywhere — from Broadway to American Idol to the Met to their high school stages.

My focus is supporting you in doing your best work.

6 Things to Know About Working With Me

1️⃣ You’ll learn how to sing with confidence, flexibility, and trust in your voice.
My work centers on helping singers feel secure across styles — especially in belting, mixing, range extension, and falsetto. Whether you’re preparing for an audition, a recording session, or a high-stakes presentation, our work together is about clarity, freedom, and ownership.

2️⃣ If you come from a classical or choral background, you’re in the right place.
I specialize in helping classically trained singers transition into contemporary styles without losing vocal health or identity. Together, we expand range, discover new vocal colors, and build technique that works for your body and your goals.

3️⃣ You get conservatory-level training, applied in a human, practical way.
I bring a cross-disciplinary approach grounded in current voice science and functional pedagogy, including advanced training in Somatic Voicework™ — The LoVetri Method. I also teach Contemporary Commercial Music as a faculty member at the Eastman School of Music, which keeps my teaching current, rigorous, and aligned with what today’s singers are actually being asked to do.

4️⃣ Your voice is trained like an athlete — sustainably and strategically.
My teaching is deeply informed by athletic training principles: proper setup, repeatable technique, smart pacing, and rest. I don’t chase extremes or quick fixes. I help you build a durable, reliable voice that lasts.

5️⃣ You’ll work with someone who understands the industry from the inside.
My path began in musical theatre, led me into opera (including time living and working in Italy), and ultimately brought me back to coaching singers across musical theatre, opera, and contemporary commercial music. I know what it’s like to pivot, evolve, and redefine success — and I help students do the same.

6️⃣ You’ll be welcomed as a whole human, not just a voice.
Conquest Voice Studio is a supportive, affirming space where your artistry is respected and your growth is celebrated. Also, for the record: I love hiking, rockabilly music, competitive powerlifting, houseplants, and chocolate cake — not necessarily in that order.

Teaching Philosophy

Singing is alive — always shifting, always growing — and so are you. To stand out, you’ve got to stay flexible, curious, and ready to meet whatever the industry throws your way with confidence and artistry. At Conquest Voice Studio, that means cross-training your voice: building strength, agility, and emotional truth across styles so you can own any song, any stage, any moment.

With over 20 years of performing and teaching experience, I specialize in helping singers from classical or choral backgrounds pivot into contemporary styles with freedom and authenticity. Together, we uncover new vocal colors, flexible registration, and a broader expressive range — all while maintaining healthy, functional technique. Watching a classically trained singer find their authentic belt or stylistic edge is one of my greatest joys as a coach.

My approach draws from current voice science and functional pedagogy, including advanced training in Somatic Voicework™ — The LoVetri Method, supporting a technique that is both grounded and expressive. In addition to my private studio, I serve on the faculty at the Eastman School of Music, where working with emerging professional singers keeps my teaching rigorous, current, and deeply connected to the real demands of today’s industry.

My work as a vocal coach is also informed by athletic training principles. Just as in strength sports, progress in singing comes from proper setup, repeatable technique, strategic rest, and patience. I don’t chase extremes — I build durable, reliable voices that last. Every lesson is designed to help you build confidence, coordination, and connection, so your voice feels as strong and natural as it sounds.

Conquest Voice Studio is a welcoming space where your voice is valued, your artistry is honored, and your growth is celebrated. Here, you’re not just training a voice — you’re supported as a whole person.

Whether you’re preparing for Broadway, college auditions, or your next creative leap, I’ll help you build the tools and confidence to shine in your own unique way.
